Locsin was a contract artist of GMA Network up to 2007 until she transferred to its competing network, ABS CBN. She subsequently starred as Lyka in the television series. She on starred in hit movies In Love’s Name and One More Attempt for which she garnered critical acclaim. The two movies earned Locsin Picture Performer of the Year and the Box-Office the Star Award Amusement Award for Picture Performer of the Year, two successive years winning both awards. She won the Film Academy of the Philippines Award and the FAMAS Award for best actress.
Early work (2001–2004)

Locsin’s first movie appearance was in 2000 via Ping Lacson Supercop she played the character of a youthful Robina Gokongwei. She later on made a cameo appearance in 2003 in Mano Po 2 and starred in the teen-oriented picture Kuya in the comedy film Singles along with in 2004. Additionally, she starred Mano Po III.
Locsin starred in the romantic movie I’ll Always Love You. She also starred in the horror movie TxT and in the intimate drama-comedy movie Mano Po 5.
Locsin with Richard Gutierrez starred Begin. Gutierrez and she reprised their roles in the movie adaptation of the TV series Mulawin, that was an entry to the 2005 Metro Manila Film Festival as Alwina and Aguiluz.
Locsin celebrated her birthday with GABRIELA Foundation, an NGO that supports kids and women. Locsin formed a present-giving to the less fortunate kids in Payatas, Quezon City and gave food, clothes and other basic needs to poor kids.
